    Esc help

Can someone give me some help with what size MGM controllers to purchase? I currently have a twin rigger with two 1527 I/D Neu motors in it and would like to switch to the MGM. the rigger has two of the old style castle creation HV 240 esc in it now but one has gone bad and cannot be repaired. the new MGM would have to be about the same in dimensions being i am limited for room. it runs a 10s battery and would like to keep things about the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is those smaller escs comparable to the castle 240 size only handle up to 8s.

Yeah you would need the 250-63's and those are much bigger in size

There are a few issues with running MGM esc with NEU motors, I tried it and ended up having big problems. I am sure those who know more will pipe up.

Will the SF300 LITE TAKE UP TO THE 10S BATTERY?

Yes it will but they are a little big in size. One of my favorite controllers tho.

The Lite's are not big at all ... well, depends on the hull size of course... Given their low-profile (flatness) size they fit just about anywhere.

Ummm, I disagree. Included in the pic is the 25035 series mgms he was referring to. They are fairly flat but they are very wide and long.

If you like I have a 240 castle I can compare. Measure or whatever. I have some sf220's to compare. Seaking 180. Etc if you need a better idea. Any idea of the amps you were pulling? We might be able to find you something else although a controller that will handle 10s is few and far between. I think you'd be better by going up in kv and down to 8s and you'll have many many more esc options available. If you have the 240's in the metal cases that look like the 240 that handles 8s, I have an idea for you that would be cheaper.

I am open too ideas and i will be back at my shop tonight so i will get you the info on the amps and sone dimensions of the space i have for them. Also i see there is the SF240"S and i think there would be enough room for these if they would be equal too the castle 240'S. Any thoughts on that? Thanks for your help

                        OP,
Are the 1527 motors 1D? Are you running 5S to each motor? Or 10S shared to each motor?

Yes the motors are 1527 I/D and they are shared with the 10s

You are running 5S to each motor = 46000RPM each motor, because if they are on 10S your RPM would be 92000rpm.
So you only need ESC;s that can handle 5S not 10S

I hope that is the case or no controller will survive a 1D on 10S. If you are running 5S per motor, I would recommend replacing the older castle HV with a Castle ICE 240 Hydra or ICE/Edge Lite200 converted to water cooling.
