    Cheap escs???

not that Im willing to go with a cheap ESC but have read couple things were some have tried the cheap ones and had good success, cheap being under $30 for a 60 amper , am sure brand also has something to do with it, but on the other hand am sure these outfits use the same suppliers just under diffrent brand names.

Im a long time fixed wing pilot and found couple HK ESCs have worked out very good, one example is the Tunigy Plush 60 Amper and the 40 amper have been real dependable, BTW how many here use airplane ESCs in thier boats?

YEP and YGE are great and very smooth ESC's. Not expensive, reliable and easy to program. I have HK's Blue series that are rebadged Mystery and they are good too.

I use aeroplane ESCs in my boats, both water cooled and uncooled but over rated.

YGE are German airplane ESC's that are very well made, reliable and popular and thin. Huge following in the helicopter community. One of the few ESC's that have Active free-wheel. YEP are clones of YGE. http://www.yge.de/ I have one of each and really like them, they are very well made, smooth and easy to program and very well priced. Hobby King carries them. I use these in my JAE Mini Sprint's.

How much amps are you shooting for realistically?

60 amps doesn't sound right for a boat... is it really small?
