    Esc for 1527 1.5D

Hey guys which is the best esc to use with the 1527 1.5D motor?

I run the MGM esc on most of my boats however I remember reading on here that people where having problems using the MGM esc with the NEU motor.

    Cheers
    Steve

That depends a lot on what your amp load will be. A seaking 180 will run it but depends on the load placed on it. If the parameters are set correctly the mgm should play nice with that motor. I have a 25035 x2 in a mono that has a 6pole dynamite motor in it and it plays nice. I did take the motor apart and it looks identical in construction to a castle motor or older neu motor except six poles. Iirc the default on mgm is two poles so you need to change that.

      Thanks Kfxguy

I will be running it in a hydro so the current draw will be quite high so I really want to be sticking with high end esc's, MGM if possible.

Are the xl2 esc any good when converted to marine?

Yes I like them. Seem to be tough as long as you don't get wet. I epoxy coat the board on mine.

How easy was it to remove the heatsinks off the field esc?

Unscrew plastic halves. Pull apart and slide wires through holes. Then very lightly pry them apart. I did two of them with no issues.

Thanks, I'll give it a go with my spare TMM28026-2 first and see what happens.
