Is auto ESC timing proper for delta wind motor?

I am setting up a Q mono with a Leopard 4092 1480kv 3.5D wind motor, and Swordfish 220 Pro+ ESC on 6 cells. This is my first delta wind motor. My research here and elsewhere shows that delta wind motors like low timing as compared to wye wind. On my wye winds, I use auto timing if the ESC has that setting, and 5-10 deg if fixed only. I expect to use auto timing on the delta wind motor, unless advised not to. I am looking for practical experience from forum members. Thanks.

Zooma, FWIW I run 3.75 degrees in my Seaking with that motor. Runs well but I need to do further testing at other settings to know anymore.

If you have fixed timing try 5 Deg or less first. Make a short run and check temps. You can try upping the timing, but you will likely only get more heat and no more performance.

I always use the Auto setting on the Swordfish ESCs for both Star or Delta motors. They always seem to run cooler than when you try to select a setting.
See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!

Auto works the best for me with sf escs. No matter if they are delta or wye.

I'm going to try this in one boat since any specific timing settings will not let me get 6+ laps out of it. If that doesn't work, the motor may be on the way out.
