I have converted an old LeeCraft nitro 28" tunnel to FE with a UL1 2030 motor on a Lawless lower unit and 4S Turnigy 5000 mah battery. An AQ 60amp ESC worked fine for several runs on a 42-55 p&b Grim prop and on an X440 3 blade. 1st prob--Ran about 30 yards, seemed to have bursts of speed and died. Unplugged and replugged battery same result. Rudder servo and BEC was working. Changed to new 60 amp AQ ESC same result. I have a Hobbywing seaking 120amp v3 new or a HW SK 180amp ESC v3. Any ideas what caused 60 amp esc's to fail? Will new esc solve the problem? Any other suggestions for a flatter esc like the AQ 60 that will fit the box better? Thanks GRAYDDSIMG_7341.jpgIMG_7190.jpg

I've had one with a bec that went bad... worked then didn't then worked again
also had punch starts that made racing my PS295 Tunnel hard to run at times
so i added an external Castle BEC and that fixed my issues
Sweet looking Tunnel by the way !!.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8s -

The reason I asked is because of a recent experience I had with a AQ set up. I have a set up that had been running in a P limited Sport hydro for 5 years trouble free. I finally had to retire the hull and move it over to a new build. The only difference between these two builds other than the hull was the servo. The old boat had a Hitec HS225MG the new a 645MG. In the new hull it would run for a few seconds and quit.
After a bit of troubleshooting I realized that I could go through the arming sequence and the system would operate again then quit. Re arm, quit, rearm, quit, you get the picture. After disabling the BEC and using a RX pack the issue was resolved. I ordered a new control for the boat suspecting the BEC. Well the new control exhibited the same behavior.
Some time ago a fellow racer gave me one of these. http://spektrumrc.com/Products/Defau...ProdID=SPM1600 I installed it during open water at the Spring Nationals and the problem was resolved.
I am not saying that this will resolve your issue but for 6 bucks it's certainly worth a try.
Having said that. Every P Limited O/B that I have ever had, or built for someone else, had the same set up right down to the servo and ran fine. Go figure.
I will be ordering or making another one in case I see this problem in the future.
Maybe this will help. Please let us know if you try it and it works for you.
Good luck.MODEL BOAT RACER

yeah, I came back to this thread to suggest a glitch buster
they help the esc's bec
these AQ speedos I don't think have a very strong bec in them
I'm going to pick one up this week and try it out.NAMBA20...Caterpillar UL-1, P-Spec OM29, P-Mono DF33, P-Spec JAE, Aussie 33" Hydro-LSH, Sprintcat CC2028 on 8s, PT SS45 Q Hydro, PS295 UL-1 power, OSE Brothers Outlaw QMono 4-sale, Rio 51z CC2028 on 8sComment
