Aquacraft UL-1 Stock ESC arming issues

My boats brand new never been run before. I just tried plugging it in to see if it works. The first time it just kept beeping and I pulled the trigger a few times and it worked. Than the next couple times it wouldnt arm. But if I threw it into reverse it would arm, but than the motor would not spin. Now when I did it in reverse I tried pulling 2 times and it armed but the motor went WOT. Than after those times the thing armed itself 2 times. I have no clue what I'm doing wrong, any help would be appreciated.

Aquacraft UL-1 Stock ESC arming issues

Set throttle channel on your radio to reverse.
Turn trim all the way up on throttle channel.
Turn on radio and plug in esc.
Pull trigger and hold for I think two beeps,? I don't remember , refer to your owner manual. then let off throttle to neutral and you hear confirmation beeps
