    Soldering question

Admittedly, I am new to FE boats. I have been spending a lot of time reading forums. I have answered most of my questions by reading previously posted responses.

    My situation:
I am building two boats (a Mono and a Cat) at the same time; but using the same power system setup. I am using a TP Power 4060 1620kv (6D) motor, paired with Swordfish 220 Pro+ ESC, powered by two 3s Revolectrix 5500 mAh batteries in series to make a 6s configuration in each boat. I am using 8mm Bullet connectors at all connections. I decided to add capacitors to my power system as added protection for my ESC. As I am already using 8mm Bullet connections, I bought the “Hifei Capacitor Bank with connections for running Parallel battery packs”. It is overkill I know on 6s, but stay with me. My intentions are to use different propellers on each boat, documenting critical parameters each time, to refine my setup. Oh, and to have fun. Insert your nerd jokes here.

    My questions:
Question 1: The installation instructions for the “Hifei Capacitor Bank with connections for running Parallel battery packs” state: “Simply solder the two sets of esc wires to the capacitor board tabs (see attached pictures). It seems odd to me that I am going from 8 gauge esc wires to these circuit board “tabs” than back to 8mm connectors to 10 gauge battery wires. I understand that the capacitors do not require large conductors, but these are my power supply lines. Am I reading the installation instructions correctly?

Question 2: As I am running two 3s batteries in series can I simply cover one of the + 8mm connectors on the board? (see picture)

    Thanks for your advice

If you are running in series why do you need a "parallel" board?
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

I wanted the option to run either.

Good foresight for 2p in future. Yes you can cover one connector.

Anyone have some insight on question 1?

You are good. There aren't too many battery packs that use 8 guage wire which is almost over kill. They use 8 guage on esc for 2P setups that can deliver much more current than 1P. The cap leads are very short and Iforget the electrical reason why it's o.k. for them to have just a single thin conductor.
