    Venom 60amp ESC Spec's?

Does anyone have experience with this Venom 60amp ESC from a King of Shaves P1? Label reads, "2s-6s," but I'm upgrading the motor & intend to run 4s only. What are the limits of this controller? I can't find spec's anywhere.

Rebadged Hobbywing Seaking 60A ESC V2. Everything you can read about the original V2 applies here. You can run from 2-6s. I didn't use this in my P1 since it was only 60 amps, I used their 120A version. The 120A version is very reliable, I also have used their 90A version, so I imagine used within its limit, the 60 A should be just as reliable. What motor are you up grading to? Make sure the up graded motor is not too much for the 60A ESC.

Thanks for the help! I'm not sure what motor, yet. Nothing too big. Perhaps a Pro Boat 1500kv-1800kv like in a MG29/BJ29/IM31. If you're familiar with the KOS P1 hull, it's paper thin. I'm going to CF inlay the inside and put battery trays on the floor for a pair of 2s in series. I think I would rather have a higher-amp rated ESC, unless this one can do the job.

Yeah, I have that boat, I got it used and did a layup with FG clothes. I run with the stock out runner and love the "scale speed". I run 4s (2x2s) and the ESC is 120A. I suppose I could have used the 60A ESC...
With a Proboat 1500 and a prop no bigger than a X442, I think your ESC could handle it, watch out for temp first few times out and TIME your runs within a minute, then increase...
I have settled with a x640 prop, BTW.

I just bought this one used, too, a few weeks ago. It's all stock and in great shape. I've run it once on a single 3s LiPo with an X640 prop and it was a lot of fun. I adjusted the tabs and strut before the first run and it climbed up on plane & performed really well. You think it would do any better with a longer rudder?

I wondered too, but I just don't know what rudder will go on the stock rudder bracket. The rudder is also very close to the drive dog prop nut, so be careful: on mine the previous owner must have used a larger prop and also didn't pay attention to the clearance, the prop nut chewed the leading edge of the rudder. lol... The problem is that there is some room to adjust the tilt of the rudder and if one is not attentive and the rudder is "tucked' in, the prop nut will touch the leading edge. at least on mine it does.
