    Esc for a tp 4070 1090kv

I'm trying to find the right esc for a tp 4070 1090kv. I'm going to be building a twin set up if it will all fit.

I'm looking at the dual 100a esc's that are being sold on the forum but I'm not sure if a 100a hv esc capable of 8s will be enough for one motor or if I'll need to go to a 200+ amp esc.

Looking for help and advise not grilling. Thanks

      Is it a 2 x 8S setup or 2 x 10S ? What is the hull?

That's a lot of power for that hull, I would go at least 200amp. I've got a Cheetah with twin TP4060s and 200amp Swordfish Pro Pluses, it works real nice.

No the Cheetah is a twin setup, here's a video of it running. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWlC...4Q-xrOOtP2wC-8

                Nice run with the Cheetah

Where do you want to put 2x8S in a Daytona?
                In a transom 5S 5000mAh is a maximum, 6S are too big.

You can try 2x5S with 1800/1900kV motors, TP4030 or TP4040 or NEU 1512 or .....

The batteries is a bridge I haven't crossed yet. I'm starting to find that a hull this size is not that big haha

I say sell that motor, then buy two 4060's and two seaking 180 esc 's. If your going to run 4s in each sponson, get around a 2200kv motor. If your going to run 3s in each sponson, then run in series and then run the power to both esc's, use about a 1500-1800kv motor for each side. If you fo a single, I'd still sell that motor and get a higher kv. A 4060 1870kv on 6s will push it into the 70's. You could also do a 4070 150 kv on 7s.....my preferred combo would be 4060 1870kv, seaking 180. ...I just build a 32" cat with this same combo and it runs 77mph with ease and I did no tweaking to it. With a sharpened rudder and tweaked with good batteries, it would do 80+.
                      32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) was

I'm agree with kfxguy 2x4S or 2x5S with 35000 rpm unload is the rule to choose the motors.

I prefer 2x5S because autonomy is better. In that case here is a very good motor : http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html
                        2 x Seaking 120A should be enough

Thanks guys. I'm working with Travis on the build of my Daytona. I have the motor in the swap shop to try and get a higher kv replacement.

As with many of us, I have changed my build plan and going to go with a single set up. Looking for a Neu or Tp something that can handle the higher rpm

I would go with the TP motor, take Travis' advice with swapping out. Recently I compared the tp 4070 to my neu 1530 I think the 4070 weighed like 605 grams without jacket, Two of em with 6s would just be way too heavy for that hull. Last thing you want with a light weight hull is a heavy motor trying to yank itself free in a crash.
