T180/Receiver Pack, separate BEC vs. ESC's BEC... How should I do this ?

I have the new V3 180 and it been quite a while since I hooked up all the electrics in a boat. I recall having good luck with my past setup in the last Titan 29 I built running a castle BEC with the esc's BEC snipped but I don't know if that is basically the same difference. What I do know is I never had any trouble but later on went with receiver packs in my other builds. I'm wanting to keep this boat as simple as possible and do not want any unnecessary weight . Has anyone had good experience with the built in BEC of the controller ? Thanks in advance.

My internal bec failed on 6s pushing it past 70mph. Personally I'd rather use an external bec because I know it's easier on the controller. I don't like unnecessary stuff either and wish I felt like it would be reliable, but I don't. Worse that can happen is it will fail and you'll have to put on one it anyway. Just to clarify I'm running a v2

I run SK 180 v2's in both of my boats. Both are dedicated 6s setups and I stick with the internal BEC. No problems, and they run nice and cool.

I think I will run the Titan 29 with the castle 1515 on 4s with the BEC and save external BEC for my 5-6s team believer , it will be high power lol

I would think that if you got a BEC your ESC would last longer, not that I have had one just randomly die.
If it was mine I would have one on.
