Fail Safe - Beilimodel - flysky controller

After my experience with my UL-1 crash, I started wondering about this "fail safe" feature supposedly built in to newer controllers. So I started playing with one of my other boats, a Hornet outboard picklfork. It has a FlySky controller that doesn't work very well in the first place, but when I tried the "turn off the controller" test to see if the motor stopped, it did the opposite. The motor took off at full throttle and didn't stop until I disconnected the battery.

Can the three pin connectors in the receiver be plugged in backwards? Any other ideas of what might be causing this?

I followed the somewhat confusing directions as best I could. There are actually two setup procedures on this one. Neither one showed exactly how the little three wire plugs fit in to the receiver.

Setting failsafe is simple. set throttle to full brake, push little button on receive till it flashes. failsafe should be set.

I did as you instructed, and now the throttle doesn't go wide open when you turn off the transmitter. However, it doesn't shut down either. It continues to operate as usual.

The wiring on this is black on the outside, red in the middle and white towards the main board.

The problem I've been having all along is that the application of the throttle usually just makes the prop jiggle. Then after doing this for a while, it will eventually start to function as a normal throttle should. Until you let off on it, then it goes back to jiggling again.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Adjust subtrim for channel 2 till it stops. Endpoints should be at max. Then reset failsafe.

Not to hyjack, on the FlySky, you need to set your throttle channel on "Reverse". Mine is set up correctly and "Failsafe" works flawlessly. That's channel 2, by the way.

i also have the flysky and its failsafe works great. i test it pretty much every outing to be sure. set up just as described above, throttle channel reversed. the prop thing not spinning up and jerking, i had that issue with a cheapo esc, i had to program for what battery s count i was using in order for it to stop this as well as set endpoint almost every time i started it up.

I personally have Flysky gt3b, gt2 and Futaba 4pls. Last race I had a few issues with the Flysky AND Futaba with my electric boats for some reason... I like the Flysky for the price of the receivers, but prefer the Futaba because of the telemetry, knowing receiver voltage is priceless and it will not allow you to the wrong model if you use multiples. The Futaba receivers are between $30 - $60 each depending on which you choose.

It's a black shrink wrapped lump with the numbers E203950 and (035CB) and C9U. No name.

I'm thinking of just replacing the radio and ESC. The motor is labeled "Quick" 540 BEILIOUTBOARDMOTOR. The boat is a 26" long picklefork labeled "Hornet".

I just like the way the boat handles, even though it's only worked a couple times.
