Castle Hydra 120 amp esc problem ?

Hi all finally got my 32'' Wildthing monohull finished set-up with a Leopard 3674 1900kv motor turning a x637 prop 2 Turnigy 4s 5000 mah 40c lipo's connected in 2p giving me 10000 mah and my trusted 6 year old 120 amp Castle Hydra esc .I ran the boat for about 10 seconds then it suddenly stops and it sounded like a fire cracker had exploded inside the boat upon un taping the hatch i noticed my esc had fried leaving a black residue all over the inside off boat. I have been using the the same esc motor and prop combo for a long time in a outrigger with no problem. What did i do wrong with the mono set-up. Regards Andris Golts.

Rigger I would think is easier on the ESC than the MONO which places a heavy load on the prop most of the time.
My friend with MZH Cat just had the same thing happen when I was there. He thinks the motor was the cause, he thinks it overloaded the ESC. He was told no longer made and replaced by 180 her added $$$ bought a 240. He says higher the volts the lower the ESC you can use. I don't understand that he has 8s.
