Yes, no problem. I run the Hydra ICE 240 on 8S and have had no problems with logging data.

        No extra caps, but 300A connectors and 2P batteries (Hyperion 45C 5Ah each) so 10Ah total 8S2P running a Castle 2028 or a Neu 2215 1.5Y.

        Short wires also help considerably.

Do you use the internal BEC or seperate battery for receiver.

I have used the internal BEC, but had one instance of the BEC failing. I would suggest using an external BEC for 8S. On 6S I have never had a problem though.

Here is an example of the data you can expect from the ICE 240 on 8S. This was taken from a 50" gas thunderboat running a Castle 2028 on 8S2P swinging too much prop. You'll see I had to get out of the throttle in the turns to get the boat to rotate. Peak currents were a little above 300A with straightaway currents around 220A. That's about 6.5kW average when running. Not too shabby, although too much prop.

The ICE controllers give you lots of useful data, but you don't have to look at all of it at once as Tyler showed. The software allows you to isolate any one or multiple parameters. Below is just the amp draw from a P-LSH boat.
