If you want 6S then you will connect the 3S packs in series, not with a Y connector (depending on your charger). The packs must be exactly the same brand, type and capacity. They should be run together as a matched pair for at least four runs and charged individually before charging them as one 6S pack.

        Balancing leads cannot be paralleled.

If you want to charge two packs at once, get a parallel balancing board. Then you can charge both at once.
You will only be charging as a 3s pack, not 6s...
I'm not sure the question but hope this helps....

i am interested it taping 2 3s packs together as one to fit in my boat where i am using 6s packs. want to connect in series and use as a 6s pack. want to charge as a 6s pack. i mentioned using a y connector joining the 2 3s balancing into a 6s balancing lead just as my thunderpower 6s battery does. is this possible?

this is how thunderpower connects 2 3-s batteries and i used a commercially sold adapter to balance with standard 6s balance jack. couldn't i do the same thing with my 2 3-s packs?001.jpg

You can just charge them in parallel completely.
Parallel the balance and the discharge leads and all the cells will be same.

As mentioned with home made cable or store bought parallel balance board.

It is better IMO opinion than series charging the pack with a dual 3S to 6S adapter cable. Either will give similar results. Both ways are better than just charging each pack individually but that will also work the pack just may not be as perfectly balanced.
