You can use anti spark connectors or put a anti spark lead in there as well.

Or do what I do on 8s or less and just plug it in like you mean it. Very little spark

I too would like to know what to do about the plug up spark. I know when I worked on forklifts I never had a problem unless the contacts were pitted. So.. without having to buy $50 of anti-spark connectors is there a way to do this inexpensively? I know when there's a current draw it produces the spark, but with the ESC off I would think there would be no draw. Suggestions?

It's the cap packs that draw the power

Lol all good, there is one way I do it on my battery with a resistor on the + side for my Slash 4x4 speed run car, when I get home I will post a pick but was looking how the boating group does it ?

Have you got a pick of the anti spark lead ?

Sorry no pic handy as I’m out of town, be home in a couple days, but I kept this tidbit on my phone so I know what to buy:

100 Ohm, 5Watt ceramic resistor .. place it between that final esc&battery connection 5 seconds before plugging them together, and you're good to go.
Remember to program esc lipo count, as auto count will fail with the softstart approach.

                    Cool thanks , appreciate it
This is what I have put on my Battery positive terminal a resistor and a battery solder tab that is insulated from the bullet connector when you connect up you just hold on the tab for about 5 seconds then plug in, works good on my Slash 4x4. and the Chinese Zonda

Oh I might steal that idea that is slick. Better than having another plug to plug in for e few secs then unplug. Having another pigtail flopping around on the battery lead also seems to present its own hazards. At least for me.

I use a 3w 20 Ohm metal film resistor for up to 8S I am sure this can be tweeked
