External lipo balancers and balancing ?

Hi all i have 4 off the Astroflight blinky external balancers the ones with the red leds .When leaving balancers plugged in for several days will this harm the lipo batteries ? What is considered a well balanced lipo ? I have some 4s lipos e.g. 4.18 v 4.18 v 4.20v 4.19v would this be considered a balanced pack ? Or do cell voltages have to be even closer ? Regards Andris Golts.

    If this is your 4S pack ( 4.18 v 4.18 v 4.20v 4.19v) your balance could be as high as .028V

A stand alone balancer like a Hyperion LBA10 balances down to about .002V

My Hyperion chargers have these balancers built in, my packs come off the charger after balancing at .005 to .002V

Any pack over .020V shows as Unbalanced.

Get a pack checker box that reads to three decimal places 0.000v on each cell.

NOTE: several years ago a club member left his AF Blinky plugged into a charged pack for several days. When he checked the pack later it was dead. Dead. Never worked again.
