Battery question

I'm going to buy 4 3s lipo batteries for my Zelos 36" twin. Almost winter here in Illinois so may not get much use if I buy them now. Is it better to for me to wait till spring and buy them new or could I buy them now and store them till spring?

I just got the email alert that the Revo GoPacks were back in stock. I'm obviously in the same position as you weather wise. I did decide to buy two so I could have a matched set of 4, just in case there's something different formula/spec wise come spring, even though they're going to be stored for several months. I'll cycle them a few times to break them in, then drop them to storage voltage along with everything else and store in the basement.

If you're not going to get any use out of them between now and spring, why not wait, maybe find a better price.

I agree with fw, I don't think it wil matter if you buy now or wait. I just sport run my boats, usually timed 4 minutes loops and I have lipos that are 2-3 years old and still perform just fine. As long as you don't abuse them(run them down too low, etc) you should be fine. I keep mine storage charged around 3.85 per cell and it has worked for me.

If you do some searching/reading on it, there are tons of ideas like store them in the fridge, etc, it will make your head spin. Finally, in the last few years I have only purchased 1 new pair of batteries, the rest have all been pre owned from reputable sellers here on OSE.

The Spring is not far, you can buy a 3s lipo battery for your Zelos 36" twin now, because the Black Friday is coming, most store which sales lipo battery will on sales, you can buy a cheap 3s lipo battery now.
