    Puffy Lipos

    Hi
I have some lipos that have become puffy and hard so they don't fit into my rigger anymore so its time to get rid of them. I will hook them up to a car headlight I have to drain them down. What I don't know should I drain them down until the mah is 0 or can I take the voltage to 0 then put them into salt water? Funny they balanced not to bad but the res. was high. I always balance charge and the amp draw is not that high the dinogy where in my rigger which peaked about 170 and the revo was run in my LSH hydro both packs are two years old. Here are some pictures from the charger. I'm not complaining about either pack both work well when they were used.

    Thanks Jack

Draining them down to zero with a load does run the risk of overheating and a fire. Slim, but probably better to discharge to around 20% then dump in the saltwater.

That's what I just did and I will leave them in the saltwater for awhile.

Leave them in the salt water for at least 7 days ( I do 10) then just toss them in the regular trash.
