That's about how many a cut open and dropped in a salt bath this passed Saturday.
Anyone interested in a graphene battery test?

I went to slip a 4s in my Rivercat, no go. Ugh. So I narrowed the rails. Nope. So I took the shrink off to investigate, there's some thin protective plates on each side which adds 1mm thickness to the batteries. I removed them and now they fit (had to do a pair of them blah). I also had to rethink my hatch hold down rivnuts because the batts were right up against them....I flip and I could be in trouble! Drilled them out and epoxied in some t nuts. Guessing should have paid more attention to the specs before ordering huh! Well I'm gonna order some 4400's just for this boat because they are 2mm thinner so they should work better. I'm still planning on some testing this week. More than likely run it on 3s first and run the shocker on 8s.

Yes sir! I'm trying to sort out how I'm doing this. I have no data logger on the shocker so that test would be purely a speed comparison and battery temp test. I plan on bringing the laptop with me to the lake so I can pull the logs from the Rivercat. I guess what I may do is run an aggressive prop on 3s and load it up to see how things fair. That's what I'm planning. Then if she goes faster on the 3s graphenes vs the hv cells on 3s....4s is going to be intimidating.
Question. Should I charge the hv cells to full voltage or just compare everything at 4.20?32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Do any of you guys heat up your lipo's before use?
I read a bunch of stuff about how something around 45*C or so is lithium's "optimal" temperature in terms of performance... basically resulting in big jumps in overall discharge in amps overall.Comment

Years back Steve Reesor ALWAYS heated his packs before a heat in a camping heater/cooler. Nobody, not even the best nitro guts could catch him and in many races he could also lap them in open hydro classes.
I miss him dearly.Nortavlag Bulc

....and his Thunderpower packs came back cooler after a heat. Not sure how warm he got them first.
Experiment like he did.Nortavlag Bulc

I've been warming my packs in the off season when doing speed runs. I have noticed a difference. But then this is Canada and ambient fall/winter temps are 0-5 celsius.Comment

Y'know, I really haven't read anything stating that awesome results are to be expected from the graphenes. Just more stable product. Now how they 'push' that stability...Comment

The GP HV cells have G10 plating. The Turnigy graphene have G10 plating. The GP graphene have G10 plating. They do hold up better. Less prone to mechanical damage. I have some boats where the cells are an absolute bugger to get in and out of the boat. The plating will help with that.
Ray, I miss Steve too. He's good people.Noisy personComment
