Oh man, a thousand opinions on that.
Revo
Giant Power
Hyperian
Dynogy
I've run 3 of these brands with good luck. The 4th I've seen run really hard.
Comes down to the ratings on each. Higher C ratings usually deliver more volts at higher amp draw. If you won't need high amp draw you can buy lower C rated cells. If you're not pushing real hard and aren't racing you could even get away with Turnigy or some other budget priced cells. There are all kinds of options these days.Noisy personComment

I think we need to ask a few questions here.
Will you be racing or just running for fun? What is your budget? Expected run time? Your setup?
Sometimes "the best" battery may not be what you need or require.Government Moto:

Yeah I guess more info would have been nice lol. Ok I have a traxxas Spartan running a atomik 180 amp ESC, leopard 4082 4 pole motor, and a octura 445 prop. When I first put this boat together I was running traxxas batteries and I was getting 61.5 MPH by GPS. Those batteries we're 5000mah 25c, they went bad. So I ordered the same battery only this time they were turnigy . Now I only get 47mph. My question is, is there that much of a difference in the quality of the two batterie?Comment

Turnigy isn't bad. Many people like them. One of the free things you can do is play with battery placement. The Turnigy's may have a different weight than your previous batteries. Move the batteries back or forward a little to see if that helps. I don't know much about the Spartan's, but also try adjusting prop height as well. Those are the free things to try. Or get batteries with a higher "C" rating.Government Moto:

I recommend using at least 50c and 5000+mah in that set up. Batteries do make a HUGE difference. If nothing has changed except the batteries, then I think you know what the culprit may be. Everyone has their pick of battery brand but by far the battery name I've seen the most complaints about on the web are turnigy. Seems more people are unsatisfied with them than the number of people who claim to have good luck. All the names that tsdavis listed are all well known and high quality batteries. Spc is another very good one that isn't very well known. Battery brand and choice seems to be a touchy subject at times......32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Many people tend to abuse their batteries by using a Low C rated battery and them using high amps and runnin them too long which will damage them quickly. You will be better off if you get a higher C rated battery and be careful not to run them too long."Our society strives to avoid any possibility of offending anyone except God.

Bingo. I always try to overdo it on c and capacity whenever I can. Better to have too much (well within reason) than not enough as far as batteries go.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment
