According to the spec it should work well. However, the testing I was involved with found that products containing silver for the conductive medium did not meet the published spec more than 50% of the time. Also, I did a little research and could not find any hard data to support the use of conductive grease just opinions. I did find this http://www.w8ji.com/dielectric_greas...ive_grease.htm. Some good points made in the article. There is a caution that would apply to our use. That is arcs through silicon grease creates silicon carbide particles in the grease which is very hard and abrasive. This would increase wear on the contacts.
As far as the silver filled grease, the only way to truly know is to test it.
Now if there was a SAFE way to use mercury in the contact area. That would be very close to a soldered connection, maybe better.

      Good info, thanks!

So I have a verdict on the silver conductive paste. First off there was no conductance shown with my ohm meter. Maybe I don't know how to check it, but I made a little bead of it and stuck the leads in the paste in several different areas close to each other. Nothing. Next, it feels like a lube when you touch it but put it in the bullet connector and slide together and apart a few times and it feels like grit in there making it even harder to pull apart. So it's a no go on the silver paste. This name brand anyway. Good thing it was free lol. I went back to anti seize till the carbon grease come in.

And they spec less than an ohm per square meter. The test method does differ from what you did but still, infinite resistance is a long way from 1 ohm. This is the type of thing I found when testing the various products out there. Maybe spec applies to more than 1KV? haha!

I give up in trying to improve my connection. Main thing is being able to seperate the connectors easier. That works well. I have some ec8 (8mm connectors in the blue housings) that I'll put On later good for 300amps.

I got the carbon version in today. Yea, Amazon evidently delivers on Sunday. Weird. Anyway it looked promising. I measured the resistance and it actually was conductive. 1.1k ohm close up and read higher the further I moved the leads. Then it was time for the main test. To see if the connectors came apart as easy as they did with the antiseize. Nope. Same roughness as the silver grease. Then on top of that this stuff is messy. You think antiseize is bad at traveling....ha! This is some nasty crap. No thanks. I'll stick with antiseize for now. The boat ran slower today, so I'm back at square one trying to find out why. I did do three things to it. I know I know, one change at a time. I had the bottom sanded with 2000 grit. I buffed it back out and waxed it. I also had a rudder that the bottom was shaped different, this one was as it but sharpened. And then the antiseize. It went 91.2 today and with this prop it usually runs 93. Only 2mph off but still a loss is a loss. Lol. I put the rudder back the way it was. Doing nothing else to it. Guess this is going to be a process to see if the antiseize affects it in a negative way. I'll keep you guys posted.

I think I had a poke at this eons ago Travis. Grease is messy and ends up firming up and causing wear. It was back in the Nicd days with Sermos connectors(silver contacts). For the record runs I hardwired everything and charged with alligator clips. Shortly thereafter AstroFlight came out with their Gold connectors.
Ok, enough of the history lesson.
