I don't understand what a 6c charging rate is. I have a Hyperion 4S/14.8V 25C 5000mAh battery. I charged it at 4 amps and it reached over 16 volts. Did I fry the battery?

As with discharge the C rating is times the mah. So a charge rate of 6c on a 5000mah means it can be charged at 30000mah or 30 amps. The rating of voltage is the nominal voltage using 3.7v per cell. A fully charged non-hv lipo will be 4.2v per cell or 16.8v for a 4s lipo. -
Wow I really appreciate your concern but I’m not sure how I should know anything without learning it first. I started flying RC airplanes about a year ago with smaller lipo batteries. I have a Hitec X1 charger and follow the instructions when charging. I am aware of the volatility of lipo batteries, but still have a lot to learn, that’s why I've joined this forum. Again thanks for the info.Comment
