Thank you for the advice! I was aware of the wires thing. A trick i learned about those wires is that you can burn, the lacquer instead of grinding them. But it is still a nightmare to work with. But i only shorten the Esc wires. I hope that it will lower the temps!

I had 2 packs of 3s traxxas batteries blow up (leak) due to an improper strut angle on my spartan before... so yea. Best to just get higher discharge and quality lipos. Those were rated at like 30c+ apparently... Oh and those were fresh new packs-- after the 1st pair puffed permanently from running all stock hardware without any prop changes, etc.

i just got back from testing my setup. I did two test run. One on 4s1p and the other on 4s2p. On the 4sp1 setup, all the electronic and wires were fine, around 100*F. But again, the batteries were hot (+/- 130*F). After letting everything cool down, i went 4s2p. And everything, even the wires and batteries were around 100*F. My runs were about 3:30 at max. i was running the grimracer 42x55 prop. I guess the only thing left is to run in 2p, or to get a more efficient motor.

Thanks to all of you for your help on this problem.

                Hi bolio56,

I am interested in your results, since I have the same motor to try in my stock Pursuit in the near future. When I looked at your installation, I noticed that you have both the ESC and battery pack located on the stock platform that is forward of the motor. I believe that your CG is too far forward. Should be 30% up from transom. Thus, your boat would be running wet, and putting a bigger load on the power system. I have both a new stock Pursuit and an older one that is set up for P class racing. The P boat has 4S2P mounted along side the motor. On the stock boat, when I moved the pack from the tray to along side the motor, I picked up 5 MPH just from getting up out of the water. You might want to try that.
