    Mah

I see many people are running 1527 1.5y 850 kv motors in a 1/8 scale hydro and using 2 5s batteries for 10 s with around 5500 MAH and castle creations says you need 10,000 MAH or you will trash the ESC no way enough room for 5 - 5s batteries in my winston eagle so whats up with that ?

It's basically Castle's way of ensuring you have a sufficient power source to draw from. Castle controllers are a little weak compared to others when it comes to buffering the input voltage/current. 2P generally results in a "stiffer" power source.
Just make sure to use short wires, good connectors and good batteries.

Be particularly careful with that model. They are capacitor limited. There are a couple of threads in the scale section on alternate controllers including the Etti 220HV pro. If you already have the Castle it is worthwhile to add 1-2 extra caps on the input leads near the controller.

Here is an example on a Schulze: WP_002690.jpg

You can also use the Castle one: CCCapPack2.jpg

I use either the Jet 6mm or LMT 6mm plugs.
BTW, neither of those pics are of my equipment, just pics I grabbed quickly off Google.
