NIMH batteries with brushless setup, yes or no?

I would like to know your opinion about that. i have alot of NIMH batteries from traxxas, can i use them without worries? My current setup is Pursuit, mambamonster 2 ESC, stock motor(1620kv), prop will be octura x442, or grimracer 12x55.

    Thanks for your advices!

They are 8.4volts, and from 3000mah to 5000mah.

Only problem is your esc may have a low voltage cutoff for lipos. If you can disable that or lower it a lot there will be no issue

You will be bored out of your mind with the speeds you will get unless you hook them in series but that would be limited by the voltage rating of the ESC.

Esc can go up to 6s/25.2v. 3x 8.4nimh=25.2v.

Maxing out your esc voltage limit is a bad idea. Not to mention you aren't gearing things down. It's direct drive in a boat = more stress on components.

I'm not saying that i will put 21cells in it, it is just to tell the max input of the esc. i'll probably run two of them in serie, for a bit over 4s.

It will work with two 8.4's in series. Use the 5000's if you have several for best power/runtime.
