Longish battery leads, need caps? Swordfish 240/15271Y/6S Parallel

Hi guys, wiring up my Phil Thomas 40 Roundnose (Swordfish 240/1527/1Y/6S Parallel) and I'm running parallel packs which necessitates ~8-10" leads from the battery to the esc. THE SF240 uses 8 gauge wire, I'm using 8 gauge wire for my parallel harness and the 8 gauge castle bullets. I know this appears long from my searching, but I don't have too many options to get the batteries in the right spot and to be able to disconnect it easily. Will be primarily used for sport, not racing so props won't be crazy.
    Thoughts?

    Thanks

Caps are always a good idea, but the total length should not be more than 10" at the most, than includes the wires from the ESC +battery leads.
    Just my $.02
    Cheers!
Too many boats, not enough time...
