New to fe and not sure about battery mah

Been reading the forums and am noticing that a lot of peeps on here keep there running times to 4-6 minutes. I just got a BJ 29 and need some batteries for it. I also just got an e revo with the mamba monster and would like to use the same batteries for both. My question is if I can run my boat longer then what most do since I am just doing it for sport without harming it. Also if I need high mah if not since I see a lot on here running such short times. Honestly 6 min is not enough running time for me since it takes me already 20 min to get to the lake. If there is anything I can do for safe longer running times that would be great.

    Thanks

Most of is use a DC charger so we can charge up at the lake from a 12v car or leisure battery, several batteries is another option, or a combination of the two. If you want more runtime you could prop down and get more, but the speed would drop too. Using batteries with more capacity may be another option, but I don't know what capacity you have now or have a BJ29 to know what will fit in it. Higher capacity batteries usually weigh more and that higher weight gives you more stability at the cost of speed acceleration and runtime, so it is a bit of a choice as to whether you run 1p twice or 2p once if you can fit 2p in.

Thanks for the reply. I am using 5300 Venom 2s hardcase batteries. I am not sure what you mean as 1p twice or 2p once? What is that?

1p= 2 packs wired series to attain a voltage. Ex. Two 2s 5000mah packs to achieve 4s 5000mah
2p= 2 packs wired parallel to achieve higher mah at the same voltage. Ex. Two 4s 5000 mah packs to achieve 4s 10,000 mah

Anyone care to verify? I haven't explained that in a while

I think my BJ 29 is in series so I run 2 2s batteries for total 4 s I believe. I want to buy a battery today. One other question is it ok to run different c rated batteries.

Yes your bj is wired factory for series.
I don't run different c rating batteries personally and wouldn't recommend it. You absolutely want batteries to be the same mah and c rating.
I'm sure some guys will tell you they do it without issue but it's really not advised.

If in series you want the same c rating & same mah preferably the same make batteries.
