I am new to the FE scene and this probably a dumb question. I just bought a BJ 29 rtr. I am running Venom 5300 2s batteries. I have the voltage cutoff on the stock setting right now. After my run my motor was 96* speed control was 99*, batteries were 130* & 133*. Not sure if that is that high or not but I would assume so. Maybe my run time was too long? Maybe i'm ok, idk.
Batteries hot?

No such thing as a dumb question.
130* isn't hot. That's a good range to be in. When you start to hit the 150* mark you can start to worry. Try & stay below 140
What is the setting for the LVC?
The main thing is to make sure there is still at least 20% capacity left in the battery after a run. That would be about 3.73V/ cell (7.46V for a 2s pack) for a resting voltage.
Get yourself one of these & check your packs after each run & you'll get to 'know' how long you can run. Or whether you need to raise the LVC. But don't rely on the LVC they are not always accurate.
This will become one of the most useful little gadgets you will have in your box.

Here's a voltage/ percentage list that might prove useful.

I don't know what my cutoff voltage is set at. I left it factory and have not messed with it. I will see what it is set to when I get home as its kind of stupid of me not checking. I did bring the boat in as soon as it slowed down and put the batteries on the charger when I got home. There 5300 and I think my charger (Orion 245) is telling me it charged them 4800 I think? Maybe thats what they charged too. I'm not sure. Thanks for the link also. I ordered it and am going to order some new batteries from viciousteknology tomorrow. Bought a E revo last month and am now addicted to FE. Having things shipped to my work as my chick is not so happy with all my recent orders haha.Comment

the lvc is 3.33 on the proboat esc's . i try not to hit it and instead stop around 3.6 . i hit 130 all the time on the batteries in my geico .you are all good man. i run 2 3 cell batteries and im around 46 mph if you want to go faster. my dad has the blackjack and he does around 51 on 2x 3 cells.Comment

paDDy.
Those numbers say that you ran the packs down to less than 10%, around 3.65v/cell resting, as there was only 500mah left in the pack. Not good. If the LVC is adjustable in those ESC's, do as Vin-m suggests & raise it to 3.6V. If it does hit the LVC under load the resting voltage will be 3.7 V or above with 20% or a bit more left in the pack.See the danger. THEN DO IT ANYWAY!!!
