    Lipo Melt Down

Hello Everyone, My Buddy and I both Have Pro-boat BJ/Impulse. went out on the Back Waters yesterday real calm Big Water The boats ran fast. We had a blast! Last night Kevin's boy was running the BJ on a canal behind the house. One of the cell's blew out the side of the pack. were both new to boats, the boats are stock 1800Kv 80a esc running venom 3 cell 5000Mah 35c batteries. We Know we are pushing the boats and expect esc/motor problems. We Check temps all the time, but the batteries are a month old and we didn't expect This. What happened? again thanks in advance for Your Help, Henry

Go to the Blackjack and Impluse sections here in the forum and look up all of the issues running these boats on 6S on the stock ESC...
Likely your boat hit a wake, prop exited the water, then reentered the water resulting in a massive amp spike. To run 6S on the stock blackjack prop you should use a 180A esc.

35 C packs are also pretty weak sauce for FE boating. They will run for a bit, but won't take much abuse. Have you been timing your runs, or simply relying on the LVC to cut power? LVC's are notoriously famous for cutting in too late, and by then, cell damage has already taken place.

My guess is you already had a weak cell, and an extended run at WOT caused it to drop significantly below the others. The LVC did not catch the bad cell and your LIPO suffered a failure as a result.

Thanks for the Help, we will start timing our runs, (we did rely on the LVC) and we have no idea how long he ran it. also we will take the time to check voltage on cells. Venom is Replacing the pack!!! Really Great Service! But it could have been a Disaster Henry
