    pursuit battery placement

ok I have got my build to this point. would it be bad on the hull to set adheasive mounted Velcro down the sides of hull for 2 packs without wood cradle or mount in center with straps . don't want to crack hull in rollovers . want to balance good. thanks

I've done that with plenty of 2s packs, tho i wouldn't try with say, a 5s pack.

6s what? s or p? the difference is a 3s vs 6s pack. i might try velcro with a 3s pack, although thats pushing it for me. a 6s pack? no way

          Hey pugman2,
          What motor and prop ?
And post some pictures of your setup.

I have mine setup in the middle for better CG in a roll over.
In all my testing with it that has only happened one time with a roll over,
And that was from doing some bashing and jumping over a big jet ski wake.

The worst stress to the hull is the repeated mounting/dismounting of the batteries if you only use velcro. Had a DF 45" Sniper with wood cradle, running 12s2p ( 4x6s) , each battery has industial strength velcro the full length of the battery, bad idea. I can see the flex on the hull and eventually the hull was cracked. ( Boat was bought usedwith the mentioned set up)
I now first reinforce the area where I will put a battery tray ( CF or FG layer) and the velcro is only to prevent battery from moving, but use strap to hold them down. It's ok to have full length velcro on the tray but only two spots on the battery. I also never yank the battery to take it out, instead I run a credit card between the velcro and separate them.
Too many boats, not enough time...

                      pursuit battery placement

A 6s pack strapped down to a battery tray, that's glued to the hull at certain points, using the provided tabs, will become stress points when the boat is bouncing around on the water if you want to get technical. reinforcing the area you want to put the batteries on IS a good idea.

would it be better to strap them on the center cradle that is already built on this hull think i may be able to stack and strap or put them side by side on it might have to change alittle stuff would have to mount esc on side of hull instead of in front of motor

Get rid of the deans plug,
And use 5.5 all the way in the setup or things will get hot.
I have mine setup with the esc the other way,
And I just run one 5000mah pack most of the time.
But I can run two packs to if I want for more run time and power if needed.

What mah packs are you thinking of using ?

Also I put pool noodle pieces in on each side and around the cells to buffer any movement,
That may come from a crash.
But most of the time I just strap the packs in and do my test runs,
                          And have fun.
How you drive has a lot to do with things to.

Well, considering I don't one one of those boats, nor do I know how big the interior is vs the size of two 6s packs, my first instinct would be to run a couple of carbon trays across, or buy smaller mah packs.
