    nimh recommendation, lipos not allowed

Going back in time here I know, and that's why I don't know what nimh make is any good anymore. In UK we have a very low key racing series, which is just for fun with low cost stock built boats, the batts are controlled, and have to be 6 cell shop bought over the counter nimhs. No matched cells, no making your own packs. I have been using overlander, which are better than the average shop bought stuff, I need another pack for my sons boat, are there any reasonably priced packs out there that are any better than others?

Looking at overlander, storm, vapertech (or something like that) are by far the most common, but are pretty rubbish, 3300mah is min I need

    thanks

          thanks reddy, intellect then!

photo, I did google it, but thought someone on hear might have had first hand experience, hence the question, wouldn't have asked if I hadn't already tried to find the answer elsewhere, being old technology everything is about lipos

Which series is it? Club 500? If it is the cells probably don't matter all that much, the biggest cells are 5300mAh and they will have better voltage under load at those low currents, but they are a fair bit heavier than 3300mAh cells so they may well even themselves out to some extent, I am not familiar with current NiMh so I cant tell you more than those general trends or recommend a brand, I was going to say overlander as they have many years of reputation supplying RC batteries on the line so they wont be selling crap, but they are out of stock, your best bet would be to go to your club and ask around what others are using, then at least you wont be at a disadvantage.

Where are you? If you are lucky enough to have a FE lake near you or within travelling distance I would think about skiping the club500 and saving just a little longer for a mini mono, mini eco or mini hydro, which are a little more expensive but consume less pounds per mph.

Hi Paul, we tried mini mono last year, we have a nat champ with us, Rob Physick, the "older guys" didn't like mini mono, and the extra money, the club 500 whilst slooooowwww! is a real laugh and well supported, I won last season, but need another batt, and I don't know the nimh world, I was thinking overlander, just thought someone on here might still be hammering the nimhs and could recommend a make. Virtually everyone is using the vapertec, but I wanted a bit better, I saw storm rc on fleabay, but at least you know where you are with overlander, We are at Taylor Park, St Helens, I like close to Gautby Road lake Birkenhead Wirral, the club there race ic boats, you might know that lake?

              cheers

              Paul
