Which lipo ?

Ok motor and ESC will be here tommo. In first post of this thread is the ESC that's coming. So the three wires from one side go to motor,how do I connect the other two wires to the battery? I sold the stock motor and ESC so I cant use it as a reference

Yes, Are you going with 5.5mm bullets?
If so, the layout on the ESC and batteries are different: on the ESC, you need male on positive and female on negative.
On the batteries, you need female on positive ( hot female)
Male on negative.

Yes Lenny I was using an old soldering stick the first time. The last attempt went much better as I used a mini torch and some flux! Practice makes perfect. I have a motor and ESC and I am ordering more lipos this weekend so I have a lot more bullets to attach.

Yes tlandauer I have a whole bag of 5.5mm bullets. Ok thx that makes it pretty simple with those pics you posted. My lipos already have the bullets on them but Im not at home to see which way I have them. If need be Ill reverse them. The ESC comes bare wired so I can put them on as per your diagram. I have the upgraded shaft and collet and I am running a S/B L40x57 3. With this new motor and ESC and running these 2S in series what kind of mph do you think Ill get? Thx again

There is no "rules" on which way the orientation goes, I choose to do this because i like the positive/female on the battery. if you are connecting them in series and no need to buy the adapter from Kintec, then you don't need to reverse them.

tlandauer here is a link to that UL-1 I mentioned that had same motor and ESC in it that Im installing and he was running 4S. http://www.rctech.net/forum/australi...dfish-esc.html. He actually states in ad it was running fast but kept getting blow overs. So maybe the 2s is better way to go with this motor and ESC combo in this UL-1 hull. My real question is he said he had installed a UBEC and disabled the BEC. Will I need to do this with mine? Thx again for all the help and advice. Id be lost without this forum and people like you willing to give advice.

He was just running 2x2s packs in series and that = 4s
If you try to push that hull with to much power or speed,
It will blow over a lot and start to destroy itself.

The added weight of 4s packs could help keep it on the water,
But it also could stop it from getting on plane to.
And it also could run slower with the 4s packs than with the 2s packs to because of the added weight.

I have never used this particular ESC, on my 4s set ups I don't disable/bypass the BEC, since I don't know this RSC, I should stay away from giving you advice.
The BEC feature on ESC allows the use of the main battery pack to power the receiver and servo. In order to disable/bypass it you can run a separate receiver battery pack to do just that or use a UBEC and still use the main pack. Idea is to lessen the work load of the internal electronics on the ESC.

I should also point out that on those ESCs w/o the BEC feature, you must use a separate receiver pack, however, if you want to tab into the main power pack and not to worry about a dead receiver pack in the middle of a lake, that is when you install a UBEC.

Im just going to run it with no UBEC for now. Im just running this in canal behind my house not racing it. I actually ran it into my dock last week . So the hull is currently being repaired! Ready for some primer & paint tommo and then install new motor and ESC this weekend. This was my first repair and man it was a lot of work....lol Next time may just look for a used hull!

We all get started unwillingly, I had a Delta Force 45 Sniper shipped to me with the tip broken off thanks to the delivery company, had to fix that. I think I would have done a much better job today, but that was more than two years ago. Too lazy to go back and redo, lol...

Yes couple lil spots I couldn't get just right but Ill have to do this again Im sure. I got some pearl white Tamiya laquer spray cans and some clear laquer gloss. Hoping the paint job turns out good! Trying to find some nice decals to put on after the paint and before the gloss.
