Not to be a pain but, why the heck would they do that? What purpose does it serve to have a split pack as such?

Are you plugging directly into a HXT receptacle with those Hyperion connectors? I ask because I think they are a different layout than the more common HXT connectors.

When you say "it wouldn't work" what actually happened?

It's possible one of the balance leads for the 2S pack has disconnected.

It looks like that pack is a 2s and 4s pack shrinked together with separate power leads and separate balancing taps.

When you tried charging as 2s and/or 4s did you use the appropriate power leads? In the pictures you still have the batter connected as a 6S pack

The pack is essentially a 4s and 2s cell bundled together. ThunderPower does that as well for their 6s packs. When charging, you will need to treat them as 2 separate packs by disconnecting the pig-tails between them.

Do you connect the balance leads first? Have you possibly plugged the power leads in first on the pack that has a bad reading?

Mike Pags had me send my pacs to a guy in the USA for a reconfiguration and he does pro work but, if Doug is up to the task let him try it out. I actually run 6S in 2S+4S configuration now so I can use the cells in other boats.

No with the hyperion charger they suggest you plug the power leads in 1st. I already blew one up ??

                      Chris,

For the split packs, Hyperion sells or sold a split balancing connector. Some were for 3S + 3S and later ones were for 4S + 2S. You connected the balance Y up first, connected the intermediate bullet and then plugged the battery into the charger as a single 6S pack. My Hyperion 6S packs came with the special balance harness.

what you can do is turning those balance wires to 6s1p by connecting the positive (red) balance wire of 2s to positive (red) of 4s connector and taking of 2 of negative balance (black) wires from 2s and putting them into the next 2 slot of your 4s balance connector, its simple easy and you dont have to deal with with 2s1p +4s1p balancing again.

No Chris, it's a simple Y harness without the PCB board. Don't have a picture handy and did not see one online.
