    battery wiring

Been doing this a little while, but still so much to learn. Getting a Vanquish together, useing Turnigy 3674 2200, Turnigy 180A Marine ESC, & 2 2S 5000Ma 45C Zippy batteries. Everything tells me batteries should be connected as follows, black ESC to black battery, red ESC to red battery on second battery and a jumper connecting red to black on both batteries. When I do this I get lots of sparks and my eyes light up. Not a great feeling. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

The spark is normal, it's a sign the caps are good. I try to plug the last connector in fast it seems to minimize it. You can install a resistor that will stop it but it isn't necessary on a 4s set up.

Thank you for the quick response, however, I misspoke earlier( I could have been a politician ) the battery S/U is in fact 2 3S. Don't know if this makes a difference. Thanks again.

For 6s a spark arrester is a good idea. http://runryder.com/helicopter/t547501p1/. He explains it in pretty good detail here.
