    Best battery connectors...

Ok, I've been left stranded twice now due to my deans coming un soldered on my genesis. I've read that deans aren't the most desirable but I thought they would be ok, WRONG!

For now I'm running a turnigy 180a speedo, and the stock 2075kv on 4s. Are ec5's up to the task, or should I put 6.5 bullets on it?

Most of us use 5.5mm bullets

Ok. I just want to put the best on it. I cannot afford to have another scare like I had yesterday

For your battery/esc connection, get the new green castle 6.5mm connectors. They have been awesome for me so far. A little rough to pull apart, but well worth it.

I've been looking at them, glad you've had good luck with them. I will pick some up thanks!

They're awesome man trust me. I have a feeling they will be very popular once they start getting around. They're on both of my boats and I have 5 pairs extra waiting for future builds. :)

Nice. Definitely going to order a few sets. I don't know if you heard my story, but my genesis spend the night floating on the pond last night. Luckily I went back this morning and it was close to shore and no one grabbed it. One of my deans failed, causing the esc to have no power.

Now I'm shopping for battery connectors and a aquacraft tug to turn into a rescue rig

Yea that's crazy. Depending on the area I woulda been sweat'n all night thinking about it not being there in the morning. Glad you got it back bro. I can't believe no one has mentioned to you to get rid of the deans and small bullets... It's pretty much standard in boats. Now you know tho.

Well my motor has 6.5 bullets on it, so they should be ok. The stock genesis motor has pretty small wire coming out of it. Once I get the battery switched to castle connectors it should be solid. The issue with the deans didnt start until I got some high c batteries. I was previously running 2x 2s 5000mah 25c batteries. I'm now running 2x 2s 8000mah 35c batteries, which now allow the amps to flow. With the old batteries I think the batteries were not supplying enough amps to over work the deans.

I couldn't sleep last night. I couldn't stop thinking about the 2 week old genesis sitting out there all alone. I just got done spending almost a full day working on the prop, and it had 2 brand new batteries I had just spent almost $150 on earlier that day at the lhs. I was spending the whole night adding up how much time and money I already had tied up in this thing. If it wasn't there this morning I would have probably not bought another boat to replace it.

Leave the 6.5's on the motor and use 8mm bullets on the batteries and esc...never worry about that again. Also I would suggest higher c rated batteries, just my two cents. I had my Ekos flip last year as the sun was setting. I had just finished upgrading the motors and esc's. Two and a half hours later, she floated across to the other side of the lake. But I can tell you this much, I wasn't going anywhere! I would have walked around that lake all night.

Higher than 8000 35c? They supply 280a continuous. My esc only does 180.

hey guys, will ec5's work? I really want to get the boat back in the water, and the castle connectors wont be here until next monday. Was hoping I could put ec5's on it and they would work for now...

My bad, I thought the batts were 5000mah 35c.
