What to do with dead lipos?

I'm wondering what to do with dead lipos. I only have a couple of them for now but that is certain to change over time. Can they be recycled? How should they otherwise be disposed of?

Put them in a plastic bucket of water to which you've added about a pound of salt. Let them stay in the water for a few days. Then wrap them in newspaper and toss them in the trash.

What Fluid said, but I would check they are at 0volts before I throw them away, if not put back in the bucket for another day and check again.

If they are dead I short the leads together and toss them.

            For sure, dead = 0.0v
If there is any residual voltage I'll discharge them with some 12v auto bulbs first then cut off the connectors and twist them up.

Radio Shack will take any batteries and dispose of them properly.

He's from New Zealand. He'd have an easier time heading to Orodruin in Mordor and tossing them. Just bustin your chops.

What! There is a country that doesn't have a Radio Shack! Just kidding- don't get upset. You do know there are RC people in the USA that read these threads.

Yeah somewhere in middle earth! Maybe I could walk up a volcano and throw them in. Plenty of volcanos around here! Don't want to upset the Hobbits but...their place is only an hour from here! Might just throw them in the sea, maybe I could use them for fishing lures?
