This is an excellent charger, on sale and will charge both packs at once. You will need a power supply.

This maybe slight overkill for you but, it has better re-sale than many other chargers and you can expand your hobby without having to get another charger.

Batteries I suggest Dinogy or Hyperion if you want quality or if you want to save some $$ and don't need the best, there is Gens Ace or Turnigy Nano-Tech batts.

Go with the highest "C" rating you can afford.

If you are going to get batteries from Hobbypartz (the home of Gens Ace), you can get the sky brand for about two thirds the price of Gens Ace right now. The Gens Ace prices increased at the beginning of this year, the sky brand didn't (best I can tell). A lot of folks on here agree that the sky brand are decent "cheaper price range" lipos. Also, if you want a "decent" charger (definitely not in the same class as above, but you can buy four of these for the price of that Hyperion) take a look at the Tenergy TB6B with power supply (~ $50 on amazon). I think that same charger gets sold with a variety of brand names (not 100% on that, though) and the instructions are a poor translation, but the charger works well, becomes simple to use rather quickly, and comes with an octopus arrangement of connector choices ... just some other options.

The Tenergy TB6B is only 50watts compared to the Hyperion's possible 550watts. Charge times will be much slower with Tenergy TB6B.

If it fails, well I'd rather talk to Steve at OSE than some unknown on the internet. There are other chargers too, you just get what you pay for. It all depends on what you need or want. The Tenergy TB6B will do but, then you may want to buy extra batteries so you are not spending more time charging than running. Six of one or 1/2 dozen of the other???

I agree with everything you said. If/when it fails, I will probably just throw it in the trash (just like you do with most DVD players and similar devices when they fail, anymore).

Kinda sad really when people could buy American made Lipo chargers (Astroflight) that are sold in USA and supported but, many even myself gravitate towards Chinese made stuff that eventually breaks and goes to landfill. The essence of Americas demise...
