Battery placement for 1/12 LLumar help

I am converting a 1/12 Miss LLumar nitro/elec. I was wondering I see everyone using this hull has just stuffed the batteries in the cockpit.... I was wondering if its werth cutting hatches in the sponsons for battery placement? Would it help with stability? I'm thinking it would allow me to reach much higher speeds. After reading Darin's "Miss Elam race prep" thread, the more wieght he added to the bow the better the boat got! Anyway thanks ahead of time for any input !

I've got the Bud,it was converted already with the motor in the cockpit and batteries on the sides. The sponsons were filled with foam so can't get them any further up.It isn't bad but does flutter at speed.

This is what I did with mine. I will tell you that as much weight you can get up front is better. I also cut the canard wing out and angled it more for some down force . At 65mph+ it needs it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6oeQgLRbiM
PT-45, 109mph, finally gave up after last bad crash

Thanks...I never really got it to run smooth but it did run faster. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJrgQ99D-4s This was before I new what a smooth running hull was. Like this one,my PT 45, this is what it should have been running like. I love this boat, best one I ever built!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvi9KIth-kg
