    how to seperate lipos?

    ok i have a few 4s pack s that arent cutting it for my boats but still have plenty power for my scale truck, i would like to make 2 3s pack and 1 2s but dont know where to start

    lol i just went for it easy to do, but i cant get the solder to stick to one of the tabs. i have sanded it and used flux as well i have plenty of heat, let me tell you how easy it was to seperate the tabs with an xacto knife poor quaility

      I'm not sure what they do, but I tried to get solder to stick to a connecting link of a quality pack and couldn't get it for the life of me. I also tried sanding, flux, etc......It may require special solder or something. I also noticed the tabs were stamped together, not sure exactly how the bond them at the factory.

        yeah these were stamped as well, if it comes down to it i will through bolt this thing

          You will need some 'Alusol'. It's just like rosin core solder but has a higher tin content with a different flux, & is designed for soldering Aluminium. Most good electronics supply stores should stock it.
          I use it when I have to reconfigure packs or replace cells.

                Take it to a Batteries Plus store and ask them to spot (tack) weld the tab. Many of the Batteries Plus stores have that piece of equipment to do just what you are asking.
