    Buying New Lipos

Gonna get new lipos for p-limited offshore for next year. I'm debating between getting either gens ace 4000mah 60c or dinogy 4000mah 65c running 4s2p. Are the dinogy's worth the extra money? If so why?

Well I would say there better because testing has shown them to be better buy people who actually race. You also get what you pay for sometimes as well. I also give you a warranty so if anything goes wrong I take care of you. Not China.

My input would be that I have 6 4000 Mah 25 c gens ace packs that I run in a 4s2p configuration so they should in theory be able to deliver a constant 200 amps. I generally run them in a p-limited set up so it really shouldn't be taxing them. I'm not sure what the deal is with 4 of them but they don't have any punch left, Lvc kicks in almost right away on them. I did some bench testing last night and they are sagging below 14.8 under a 10 amp load. I've run them using a 4074 in a MG but the amp draw still shouldn't be enough to really damage them. No puffing they just don't have the punch. I'm cycling them to see if that does anything but I'm not holding my breath. I also have some 3300 packs I run in 4s2p and they seem to be doing fine still, even in the hotter set up. I plan on switching to the dinogy brand when I'm ready to pick up so more packs, I know several racers using them that are happy with them, even after they have been abused.

Maybe a higher c rating is the answer to your problem with the gens ace. Seems a bit low to me even though it should not be mathematically drawing the packs that hard. Also how many cycles do you have on those packs. Perhaps the price is fair even if they don't last that long because they may last longer per dollar than other batteries. Just my quick thoughts.

Pick your poisen I guess. I have the data showing 4s2p (as listed abovr) sagging less then 40 c 5000 mAh packs 2sx2 for 4s1p . Both are rated to deliver the same. Had the packs since June and I tend to go boating 1-2 times a week. I have 4s 20c 5000 mAh turnigy packs with far more cycles on them and they still give me a solid 4 min. Not sure what's up with these packs. Maybe they were stored too long with a full charge.
