    NiMH batteries

Anyone still using nimh battery packs in their boats? Are they a good choose if I don't have lipo's yet?

    Ken,

all depends on your setup. Typically, fir FE use, MIMH doesn't deliver the amp draw needed and can build up heat fast, especially once the voltage drops near the end of your runs. What's the plan? In a conservative setup, should be fine. But really depends...

Folks still run nimhs in boats like the SV27 and Formula Fastech etc.............. High quality nimhs can deliver in the 40-50 amps range and those boats running two 7 cell packs are pretty decent performers.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

And speaking of the Fastech, I run mine on 4s lipos....and it flies! (well, around 40mph and I get GREAT runtimes!!)

Impulse 26 and others also run NIMH. But even that, Stock setup can get the packs pretty warm.
