If you are looking for the highest speeds, stay away from the cheap Chinese brands, their voltage depression at high amps is dreadful. I have set records with ThunderPower and Hyperion packs, although I hear great things about Dinogy packs too. You will want the highest "C" rating offered by the brand you choose and at least 5000 mAh capacity - this minimizes the internal resistance of the packs and maximizes power output. Remember that all the power in your boat is stored in the chemical energy in the packs - the motor only changes that power into mechanical energy.

I have not used the Dinogy but I second Fluid on buying them as MarkF is a great guy and that is how his name is spelt, look up propperchopper there the olny thing he will buy from here on out and if you look at his post's he's no dumby.
MarkF offer many different MAH rating and the ones you would want are 5000MAH or the 6000MAH just so you know a 14.8 volt 130C Burst and 65C Constant 6000MAH pack is 120.00 from him and if you buy nogh he will drop 10 bucks a pack and a 5000MAH Thunder Power with the same C rating is 289.99 and everyone say's these Dinogy packs are just as good as a Thunder Power any day, also MarkF stands behind his packs for 6 month's as well.
I have read a few post's and PM'd a few guy's who have ran his packs and they are guys that are respected on this Forum and they have all had nothing but great thing's to say about MarkF's pack's,also a guy who tested Mark's packs on an eagletree data logger said they had lower internal resistance then a Hyperion cell and they are regarded as a top notch cell, also if you do not know a lower internal resistance is better as that means it can discharge more amp's and run cooler as well and the cooler running means better Battery life.
Just do a search and enter in MarkF and give him a PM he's a really nice guy and will get back to you fast as well.
Have my first set coming from him. Trust the information on this thread regarding people and company ethics. OSE, Steven have been awesome to work with on my project and MarkF seems to be same way.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm for the Dinogy battery I was really trying to open a discussion about what batteries are performing better in a setup like mine by those who have “actually” used them. I do value Tony’s experienced review of the Dinogy, but clearly these are not the only batteries out there. The fact is I may go with Dinogy, Mark's pricing is very competitive….I just wanted to hear some comparisons and find out what other batteries people are using.
I know if you look at this Thread and look at Post madmikepags made he would be a guy to PM and ask more about them he really knows his stuff and is very knowledgable, mike has been in the Hobby longer then I have and I have been doing it for 20 year's at least and I know for sure mike has written a few articles for RC Car Action back in the day and he has done at of thing's in this Hobby,I can speak for Mike if he has a eagletree data logger and he very well may and even if he does not he own's 30 of the Dinogy pack's and he may be the best guy on the board to ask about these Batteries.

I've set SAW records with Thunder Power bats, but now I only buy Dinogy bats. Far less money with the same, or better, overall performance. Mark F. is one of the best in the sport and I watched him set a Q Offshore record at 102MPH at the last SAW event using Dinogy bats.
I'll be running Dinogy at the next SAW event along with Mark F.

Twin 1717's on 8S SAW... For short runs and max speed.
Yup, you'll find lower cost bats that will power your boat.....but if you want to go fast and win races IMO the Dinogy bat is your best option (this is my recommendation for your specific purpose Rocstar22).
