    2S series charging.

Hi, i'm wondering if anyone can tell me an easy way to series charge 2x 2s so they can be charged together as a 4s pack. Batts are turnigy 5000 40c 2s. Charger is hobbyking hkc6.

I often charge two packs in series, but they are not cheap packs and I don't use a cheap charger. First, always keep them as a pair, don't use one in another application, dedicate them to series use in the same boat. Discharge them together in series several times, in the boat if possible. Check to see if they both take the same mAh when charged separately. After 2-4 cycles, try charging them in series but monitor them closely the entire time. Check the individual cell voltages making sure none get above 4.20 volts. If you charger is finished and none of the cells are too high or too low, then it is probably safe to charge them in series as long as you monitor them carefully. If even one cell is high, don't do it.

Thanks for that, it might be better to get a second charger or 4s packs. The boat is a proboat miss elam so there is limited room to fit them. By the way, what balance lead set up do you use ?

I'm not certain of the question. I use an adapter between the balancer and the pack, it depends on the taps used on each.

I'm pretty sure I've seen adapters for sale someplace but it's easy to make up your own to suit the connectors on your batteries and balance board.
I wrap one plug in red shrink wrap the other in black, the red always goes on the battery connected to the positive charge lead, black to the negative side battery.
I usually leave my pairs of batteries connected, that way they are always used as a pair, no confusion. Also only have to deal with the pair of connectors going to the esc when hooking things up.
I don't need any help getting confused! I keep it as simple as I can in my world.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?
