The battery you selected is waaaay more than your Pursuit will need! And that's a good thing, buy 2.

If thats way more than i need for that esc-motor set up what would you suggest ? i also found some 50c that are 60 c burst, This lipo to esc to motor thing to make sure you dont damage the esc or motor is complicated, way more so than the gas boats... thanks

Most people with these boats are running 4S2P, which if your unsure that means 4S (4 cells) 2P two packs.

I think most of us are running 3300-5000 on the packs (each). I would say 30C would be minimum on the larger packs while you will need to go higher C on the smaller packs. Larger C wont hurt either.

I personally had 4500 45c packs but one puffed so I gotta buy new. Next go around Im buying the Gens Ace 65C batts. So far ive been happy with another battery I bought from them so Im going to roll the dice again. Not so happy with the battery from Hobby King... Actually I havent had much luck with most of their batteries so Im done buying them.

There is no value in a cheap battery if you gotta replace them constantly...

The "C" rating is just the ability of the packs to supply that amount of current, it's the motor that actually determines how many amps that will be drawn.
The higher the C rating usually the lower the resistance of the battery, but you have to be careful cheap batteries usually overestimate the rating of the battery.
TP & Hyperion are two battery brands that you can trust in high amp racing conditions. Expensive but proven quality serious race batteries.
Check out RClipos.com until the shipping changes they were the only people I bought batteries from, it doesn't effect you though in the States.

I used to love Gens Ace batteries till I started comparing them to the nano-techs. nano-tech 65-130 C 5000mah will get my vote.
2 2s packs in series gives you 4s1p and 2 4s packs in parallel gives you 4s2p. With such high discharge rating of the new batteries 4s2p is no longer necessary but thats just my honest opinion.

In the UL-1 the batteries are configured to give a 4S effect- doubling the voltage.

With the Pursuit you want two 4S packs and when you wire these up it will double the capacity.

E bay is the worst place ever to buy batteries. And those batteries on unknown quality at $110 is a real silly gamble. You can get a 4S 5000mah 60C battery thats pretty good for $71.

Take a look at this Thread and get some of these if it's not to late, they are less money then a Thunder Power Pack and a little bit more then a Turnigy Pack, they are 6000Mah and I think they are 65C Burst and 130 Constant.Talk to Mark he's a nice guy and a member on this site and these are the next pack's I'm going to try as a few guy's have to me these pack's seem to out perform Thunder Power Battery's by a little bit plus I like the extra 1000Mah idea as well.

The dinogy are great packs I now own 30+ of them and they are very strong, I've won a bunch of races with them, but you can't go wrong with the nanotec 65C's either in your setup. and buy at least 2 sets of whatever you get.

The Dinogy packs are being tested by some serious racers and nothing but good reports. I haven't seen anyone test a nano a spec yet but I am in the states and give a warranty if you have any problems. Or as someone put it, you can roll the dice and see what you get from Hobbyking. performancerclipos.com

I'd love to try some Dinogy packs, problem is UPS and the nasty brokerage charges to get batteries from anybody into Canada now.
I have heard nothing but good about them but I haven't been able to try them myself, I try not to recommend products I personally have never used.

IM not really a gambling man, I prefer to go with a proven thing and if Dinogy has packs that will work with my set up they sound good to me....I run the Venom packs in my 1/8 late model dirt oval cars and ,although expensive i havnt replaced a pack in 2 yrs so i think they were well worth it, hopefully these pack will perform the same way...

See if Mark will send them trew the mail and if not then one step up from the Standard UPS service I think it is Express you want but not sure,if you get the service that is one up from standard ground then there 25 dollar Brokerage fee is included and that means although the shipping will cost a bit more you will save over all.Just ask UPS what service's they offer that include the brokerage fee or like I said get Mark to mail it to you and there should not be a problem with that as rc-lipos ship's threw the mail.
