    5.5mm vs 6.0mm Bullets

anyone making a switch over to 6mm bullets vs the 5.5's?

wondering if the bigger size helps lower temps on the battery connectors or not...
    thanks

Not really, there is actually more surface area contact on the 5.5's because they're longer, but I've switched to all 6mm because i can get the 6's more easily and at a better price in bulk, I usually buy 50-100 pairs at a time. (I have lots of boats and batts)!!!!!

Well I bought several 6mm because I've heard there is less heat buildup..

Tim Smith is doing 168 MPH (on-road vehicles) and swears by the 6.5mm bullets. I would say bigger is better if you're concerned about heat buildup and current handling.

        Thanks,

I'm not sure if there is less heat, all of my setups are race setups so everything gets pretty warm even when I use the 8mm stuff but I dont think there is much difference btw the 5.5 and the 6's but like I said I switched everything to 6s in the past 2 years.

Well I hope they do well, or I should say better
I placed an order for 4 packs worth (80pcs) of 6mm to replace all battery connections
and 8mm (24pcs) of 8mm for all motor connections..

Is it a good ideal to put bigger connecters on the motor side then the battery side ?

I'm going to run 6mm on all my batteries and 8mm on the motors for my P powered boats

Mike, More current goes through the battery side than the motor side. Plus you have three wires on the motor side so the answer is no. I run 5.5's all the way around on my 4S2P P-Mono. Same for P-Limited stuff except for tunnel where I run high quality 4mm bullets on the motor side. 5.5 to 6.5 mm is cool for your applications. Whatever you do, replace the Aquacraft bullets on the Aquacraft motors for the P-Limited stuff. I dont want to see smoke coming out of that pretty whip next month!

I've seen them come apart and they have been known to take the ESC with them!I dont want to see smoke coming out of that pretty whip next month!
