I did a search on here and read alot of good reviews on the Haiyin batteries when they first came out. Wondering what everyones opinion is now that they've been running them for awhile.
Thanks.
From the few I have seen, they work well for RTR setups, not so well for open-motored setups. The pack below was run to about 40% remaining capacity in a setup pulling over 140 amps. Keep the amp draw to 100 amps max and they should work fine.
Ray, I can't get onto the Billowy website. Are they available anywhere else?
Jay, looking for a couple 4s batteries to run in our tunnels with the UL-1 motors. Something around 5000mha and 30-40c. No racing just sport running.
With batteries this size it seems-
Gensace are never in stock
Zippys, had good luck running them for last several years but HK is out of stock at USA warehouse.
Turnigy, seems like a gamble if packs will be DOA.
Like the Dinogys and Hyperion but hate to spend that kind of money just to play around.
Been looking at Sky lipos too.
Well guys I ordered a couple of the Billowy Lipos today. Did alot of searching and they seem to be decent batteries. I had a couple questions and their customer support got back to me really quick. Price for 2 with free shipping was inline with some of the others I was looking at. We shall see, but I'm optimistic they'll work for what I need them for.
Those Billowy's look to be a good deal for the 3s 5200's..................proof is in the pudding though.
The 3s 5200's($40) are only 6 bucks more than the 2s, and half of what a 4s costs! Must not be selling many 3s batts, i like 6s setups myself, i may have to try some.
I'm in the process of setting up a test station that will pull about 80 to 90 amps constant
I have some of these Haiyin packs to put under this load to see how they really do against my other packs..
I order up some Billowy packs and try them as well...

There is a guy on Rc Groups that runs tests on MOST of the lipo's on the market. He tests C rating and also longevity. He has no affiliation with any of the companies so his opinions are not biased like some of the other test results I have seen. He tested both the Haiyin and Billowy Lipo's and gave them both great reviews. He also tested all the Gens Ace packs and said that the 25c packs were under rated while their 50-60c packs did no better on his tests than the 25s packs did. He also says that Thunder Power packs are the best packs that he has tested BUT who the heck can afford them anymore?
Todd, do you have any Turnigy's or Zippy's from HKing to test out?
No Zippy's Carl
I do have 30c Turnigy soft packs (about 3years old)
40c Turnigy hard packs (about 2 years old)
40c Grim packs (4months)
30c Gens Ace packs (5months)
50c Giant Power packs (2months)
65c Dinogy packs (2months)
40x Haiyin packs (1-2months)
all testing is on a 4s pull
I've done 30amp and 45amp pulls as of now....
I'm doing this out of curiosity of what packs I own deliver the most Watts and the highest Volts under a load
the winner out of my testing gets a big order for next years racing season...
no high tech Eagle Tree, just a watt meter
if anyone wants to know how there packs do, I will take very good care of them like all my rc, and send them back after testing in a storage charge....
