    Will these Lipo's work.

I'm getting a AquaCraft Motley Crew and I'm going to run it stock and the olny thing I plan on upgrading is the Prop with a Grim Racer 42X55.

The Lipo's I'm looking at getting are Zippy 2S 5000Mah Packs with a 40C Rating will these work and stand up over time.

Good batteries, have you decided on how you're going to connect them to the ESC?

I'm going to use Deans Plug's,not sure if I'm going with these Lipo's I just found a great deal on 65C ThunderPower Pack that I can get for 72 buck's a pack the guy is giving a big discount on them and some other stuff so I'm pretty sure I'm getting 6 of them.

I know a 65C is alot more then just an insane amount of overkill but I'm going to use these pack's for another bigger boat later on that will need a bit better Battery.

            Martin,

I am a newbie. Why Deans plugs are a bad idea? Please elaborate. Thank you.

I have been into RC for many many year's most likely 20 plus and I know alot about the care of Lipo's and all the rest of I just don't alot about witch cheapy brand is better vs the other, but the onething I can tell you for sure is that Banana Plug's are usualy the best for most thing's why because they have more surface area and are not as prone to getting as hot, where as a Dean's or Traxxas type plug get's hot the plastic can melt and the metal part's touch and they short out,or there's just more resistance with a Deans or Traxxas type plug as some claim but in the end I have never really found the need to run anything but a Deans or a Traxxas plug, also keep in mind if you use a Connector you need to match it to your application.

I think I would be alot more concerned if I was running 22.2 Volt's and a really really Power hungry motor,I feel if AquaCraft and the many other's that own a Motley Crew or another AquaCraft Boat are running Deans and having alot of problem's with them we would be seeing this on the forum all the time but we are or at least from I seen would suggest they are fine for a lower powered boat, the Motley Crew's ESC is olny rated for 60 Amp's not 120 to 200 Amp's like other's I have seen and if that were the case where I was running a 200 Amp ESC and pulling that much then yes I would run a Banana or Bullet Connector.

Why Martin feels there Bad a idea I don't know, but I can tell you is if AquaCraft put's them on at the factory most likely they are going to work as they do not want guy's complaining wanting warranty service on there ESC because they can not handle the current.

Can you tell me why the Bullet Plug's are better then the Dean's,not saying your wrong and I'm right as I have not done anything with a FE Boat's and I would'nt mind hearing from guy's that feel that the Bullet's are better and what the concern's are using the Dean's instead of the Bullet's.

Also are these anygood for the Motely Crew or do they need to be bigger.

iamandrew PM'd me as to why the Bullet's are better and this is what he said and it makes sense to me.

With the Deans and a Traxxas Plug your olny Soldering one side of the wire to the Connector and that means it's a very small contact area where the Current has to flow from the Wire to the spot where it get's soldered onto, where as with a Bullet or Banana Connector the whole end of the wire goes into the spot to be Soldered.

He also said the Deans can Fuse together under to much load and won't come apart and felt that a 4MM Bullet plug be fine for a boat like the Motley Crew boat nothing more powerful.

I found these Plug that are really cheap and you get a bunch and they have a Red Plastic housing with them so they work more like a Connector.

These are good connectors, add your own heatshrink. Don't like the kind that have both connectors in one housing, you have to add too many connectors to get everything wired together. You will at least need to make up an adapter to run in series. With bullets you just connect the positive and negative of a pair of batteries then straight into the + & - of the esc. Each added connector increases the resistance in the circuit.
You still need to make a harness though if you run a 2P setup.
If my boats upside down then who owns the one I thought I was driving the last two laps?

Deans don't have a high enough amp rating. They will desolder.
