      Actually the spark is a good thing. It lets you know that the caps are good. The caps do wear out without warning. No spark means bad caps. Your choice, scared of a spark or the spark is your friend.

          Also a spark eliminator will extend the life of the caps. So your call.....

            Caps and connectors are cheap and easy to replace. ESC's easy, not so cheap. For higher voltage I'd say use them, Swordfish actually says to and supplies one with the 300 amp ESC.
