    6S 5000mA pack fit in Genesis/FCDaytona sponson?

Anyone know if a Zippy/Turnigy 6S 5000mA pack will fit into a 37" Daytona/Genesis sponson without modifying the hatch lip? The 4S 5000 pack I have is a snug fit - without a battery tray. Curious if anyone's tried it.

I have the 5000MAH Flightmax 5S packs and they are a tight fit but do fit in.

Most people who use 6S on the genesis just do 3S in each hull in series

@madmorgan, yeah, I noticed that too. Just based on how tight my 4s pack is, I suspected it could be an issue. My 4s pack fits easily if I stand it lengthwise against the side of the tunnel rather than lay it flat in the sponson. The problem is - according to the dims on HK - the 6s pack is as thick as the 4s is wide. Maybe i'll just go with 2x3s in series and live with short run times. It would be my high speed drip anyway with a 1760 kv motor.

I run a CF Daytona with two 3s zippys in series and they fit nice but I do of course wish the run times were longer but instead I will just keep buying batteries. The more batts the more fun time lol
CF Fightercat Daytona, 21 year old Hitec Sea Nymph, Genesis and many more to come im sure.

They should fit fine directly on the bottom. I ran (2)6S Turnigy 4.5s in mine with no problems fitting. If I remember right seemed like I was seeing 30 min + run times, was great.

Thanks Ken. I've been running two 3S. I was also a little worried two 6S 4-5ah would be too heavy. Was it a problem for your Genesis?

No problem, actually I like the extra weight myself Helps keep the boat planted, as long as its balanced right. Had some minor stressing mainly under the motor mounts tourque related.I added CF to entire bottom and 2 layers glass tape to the mounts when I re-installed them. here is link to short vid not that great but anyways.

Just wondering if you upgraded your shaft? I just bought the genesis and put the 180amp seeking in with the stock motor. All of my buddies are running spartans with lips and are killing me. I may run the same setup as you. Can you help me out by any chance, just telling me what I need to get/do. Thank you

                          Pappy,
I did upgrade the shaft, I put a 3\16 flex in with 3\\16 prop shaft, I ended up drilling the strut slightly to fit a bushing in for the propshaft. Has done well so far the boat has awesome holeshot with massive tourque roll on launch even with the big 6S packs in the sponsons, so the shaft definately gets a hard work out.
