Newb needs help

I bought the 32" Apparition last summer, but never ran it because I was giving it a new paint job. I'm new to brushless and lipos. Eventually, I'm going to upgrade all hardware but for now, I'm going to run the stock setup the boat came with: 1620 kv motor and 150amp esc. All I have left to get are my batteries and a charger. I have been reading through the forum, but there's so much information here I think I will need the secret decoder ring to decipher it all. My questions you gurus are:

Would a pair of 4s/ 30c/ 5000mah packs ran in parallel be a good choice for this stock setup?

One dual battery charger or two single battery chargers and brand recommendations?

Should I replace my plastic prop with a metal one on this stock setup or just run the stock prop?

On a side note, my local hobby shop dealer suggested dipping the batteries in a tool dip for added water protection, would you guys recommend doing this?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have the same boat,
1) 4s x 2 (8s) is to much batt for that motor, you have to do 4s (2s x 2) maybe 5s (2s and a 3s) but motor MIGHT take a dump.
2) I use a duel, (venom 210) just buy a charger thats in your budget, you can always buy a expensive one if you "get into" this hobby"
3) always replace the crappy plastic prop
4) you can dip the ends of the battery, but the whole batt is a waste. good luckodluck

If you are running the packs in parallel it will only be 4s total so you'll still be good voltage wise. However a pair of 5000 ma 4s packs in an Apparition are going to make it really heavy for it's size. A pair of 2s 5000's ran in series would be a better choice or maybe a pair of 4s 3000's for parallel use.

As for charger recommendation, this one will be my next purchase. I have one of the smaller 4 port chargers and like it. Only problem is that it takes too long when charging packs above 3s. (as voltage increases, amp output to the batteries decreases) The one in the link should charge the bigger 5 & 6s packs at full capacity though.

Agreed, Running in Parallel is a waste, run the batts in series.

What kind of run time would i be looking at with a pair of 2s 5000's in series?
And what would be the difference between runnin the pair of 2s 5000's is series vs a pair of 4s 3000's parallel?
Do you know what size the stock prop is, im going to go ahead and replace it now.
Ive also upgraded the steering rod to a much heaftier rod and better connection to the rudder, mixed with a high torque servo,
it should turn pretty good i think.

and you run time will depend on how long your in the trottle and what c rating they are. If you want to run 2 4s in parallel you could set your self up to run a lonnnnnng time lol.

Well after seeing a YouTube video of a guy running a Feigao 8xl with a 200amp esc on 6s, I ask myself why wait, upgrade now! That thing was stupid fast!

I know this answer will vary depending on use.... but I'm running 2 turnigy 4000 mah 30-40C 2S in series in my genesis and getting 5 to 6 minute run times on stock setup. with Turnigy 180A ESC,
I too was looking into going with 2 4S batts. in parallel for longer run times, now i'm wondering about the weight difference? I was looking at 6000 mah 4S batteries.
if i'm getting 5 min. on 4000 mah, will i get 15 min. run times with a 4S 12000 mah (parallel)? or will it be too heavy?
